Triticale Amphidiploid 42

A Landmark of Ukrainian Breeding

Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS, the "Amphidiploid 42" variety stands as a cornerstone of Ukrainian winter triticale selection. By combining the resilient characteristics of rye with the technological benefits of wheat, this variety offers a reliable production model tailored for the diverse agricultural landscapes of Ukraine.

Robust Phytosanitary Resistance

The core strength of the "Amphidiploid 42" lies in its inherent resistance to the most critical pathogens that frequently compromise cereal yields. This natural resilience reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, making it an economically attractive choice for sustainable farming. The variety shows strong resistance to:

• Brown wheat rust;
• Septoria leaf and glume blotch;
• Fusarium head blight;
• Powdery mildew.

This comprehensive disease profile ensures that the crop maintains its quality and yield even under high-pressure conditions, providing farmers with peace of mind regarding harvest stability.

Market Positioning and Utility

Within the livestock sector, "Amphidiploid 42" is recognized as a high-value source of concentrated feed. Its consistent performance across varying regional conditions makes it a staple for farmers focusing on predictable yields and cost-effective production. By leveraging the decades of expertise from the Yuriev Institute, this variety offers a blend of historical reliability and modern biological defense, catering to those who prioritize stability and crop health in their production cycle.
