The winter triticale variety 'Strateg' was created by distant hybridization of triticale and spelt forms. During selection, individual selections were applied in F2–4 generations and repeated improving selections in F5–6 based on productivity and grain quality indicators, which allowed obtaining a high-yielding material with improved agro-biological characteristics.
'Strateg' is characterized by a high protein content in the grain at the level of 14.0–14.3 % and gluten content of 29.8 %, ensuring high product quality. The yield of the variety exceeds 5.0 t/ha, indicating its effectiveness in agricultural production.
The variety is registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine since 2018. It is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-steppe zones, where it demonstrates stable yield and grain quality indicators, making it prospective for farmers in these regions.
