Triticale Poltavskoye

Breeding Foundation: Institute of Fodder of NAAS

The winter triticale variety "Polyanske" is the result of focused breeding, aimed at developing a high-adaptive hybrid with enhanced immunity. The technical focus in this generation is placed on mitigating pathogens that traditionally limit the performance of grain crops under high-humidity and temperate conditions.

Phytopathological Stability as a Core Asset

The engineering resistance of this variety is implemented through comprehensive defense against a range of fungal diseases:

• Brown wheat rust: minimizes the risk of premature flag leaf senescence, crucial for grain filling.
• Septoria: the breeding selection significantly reduces foliage damage, even under high-density planting conditions.
• Fusarium head blight: a critical parameter for crop safety, reducing the risk of mycotoxin accumulation in the grain.
• Powdery mildew: provides an effective barrier against mycelial formation, maintaining healthy development even in conditions favorable for the pathogen.

These characteristics position "Polyanske" as a tool for reducing the fungicidal load per hectare. The practical value lies in the crop's ability to maintain photosynthetic activity during stress periods. The variety demonstrates consistency in intensive farming conditions, where climatic fluctuations place high demands on the plant's immune system. Leveraging the genetic potential developed by the Institute of Fodder of NAAS ensures predictable growth patterns and high-quality commercial grain output.
