Triticale SLOVO

Stable Yields in Challenging Conditions: The Reality of Growing Triticale «Slovo»

When working with winter and spring triticale developed by the FGBNU «Verkhnevolzhsky FANC», you start to value real field hardiness over marketing brochures. «Slovo» is a case where the breeding efforts of the NPC of the NAS of Belarus and Verkhnevolzhsky FANC provide farmers with a tool for effective risk management. The main advantage noted during operation is that the variety essentially eliminates the need for excessive fungicide treatments against common infections.

Phytosanitary Control Without Extra Costs

For an agronomist, it is vital that the crop can hold its own. «Slovo» achieves this through natural resistance to diseases that often consume grain profit margins:

• Common bunt (stinking smut) and brown wheat rust are the «Achilles' heel» of many varieties, but they do not pose a threat here, even in high-humidity seasons.
• The variety demonstrates strong immunity against powdery mildew and various types of rot.
• Seed mold and onion stalk smut are also suppressed at the genetic level.

This provides significant savings on crop protection agents: there is no need to flood the field with chemicals just to save the harvest. Field management is reduced to standard technological operations without the need for emergency sprayer deployment.

Technology and Adaptability

The flexibility of «Slovo» in both winter and spring forms allows for effective coverage of various rotation cycles. The crop is not demanding regarding predecessors and responds excellently to standard agronomic practices. When handling this variety over large areas, field uniformity is noticeable, which is critical during harvesting. Less header loss, stable grain yield per hectare, and predictable crop behavior during the growing season are the real benefits experienced by operators in the field. If you are looking for a variety that forgives minor agronomic errors and guarantees forage or food-grade quality without unnecessary effort, «Slovo» proves its name in practice.
