Fodder beet Larka RZ F1

Technical performance of the Larka RZ F1 hybrid

Developed by Rijk Zwaan, the Larka RZ F1 hybrid is engineered for high-yield commercial vegetable production. Over a growing cycle of 110–120 days, the plant produces uniform, globe-shaped roots with a deep, intense dark red flesh. A standout feature for the processing industry is the complete absence of internal rings, ensuring uniform quality for slicing, dicing, or industrial processing.

Crop health and storage potential

Rijk Zwaan has integrated significant resistance to Cercospora leaf spot into this hybrid, effectively reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications throughout the growing season. This ensures a healthy canopy, which is essential for consistent nutrient accumulation in the roots. The roots are characterized by a dense, resilient structure that maintains internal moisture during long-term storage, extending the marketing window for producers.

Applications in professional farming

• Bunching: Excellent uniformity and attractive foliage make it highly suitable for early fresh market harvests.
• Processing: The lack of white rings guarantees a high-grade, visually appealing product for commercial canning or retail.
• Storage: Exceptional shelf-life properties minimize losses in cold storage environments.
