Early high-yielding eggplant variety with high fruit marketability
Nadir — Early eggplant variety (seed type of the 'Almaz' variety), from seedling transplanting to technical ripeness 60-70 days. Plants of the Nadir variety are compact, 45-50 cm tall, characterized by simultaneous branching and compact fruit placement in the lower part of the plant. Fruits are cylindrical, weighing 150-200 g, with a shiny and smooth skin, 15-18 cm long, 3-6 cm in diameter. Flesh is tender yet firm, light-colored, with excellent flavor and no bitterness. Color is very bright, deep violet. Yield of the early eggplant variety Nadir — 45-50 t/ha. Regular harvesting, every 5-7 days, extends the vegetative period and increases yield. Irrigation affects the quality of eggplant fruits, enhancing their marketability and average weight. From seed sowing to fruit setting, soil moisture must be maintained at a level of not less than 75 % H2O. Eggplants require warmth; all agronomic practices, especially during the vegetative period, should promote better soil warming. Therefore, the first priority is to conduct timely and thorough inter-row cultivation. Planting scheme for early eggplant variety Nadir: under sprinkler irrigation 70 Х 30 cm, under drip irrigation 90+50 Х (25-30) cm. Eggplants are grown through seedlings, using cassette method (sowing seeds in special cassettes). Seedlings are transplanted into open ground at 60-70 days old (the plant should have at least 5-7 leaves).
