Negus — Early eggplant variety, from transplanting to technical maturity 60-65 days. The Negus eggplant plant is compact, 45-50 cm tall, characterized by early and simultaneous branching. Fruits are round in shape, with smooth and shiny skin, intense purple color, average weight 150-300 g, transportable. Flesh is light, very tender yet firm, flavor qualities excellent. Regular harvesting of Negus eggplant fruits, every 7-8 days, prolongs the vegetation period and increases yield. Yield of early eggplant variety Negus — 35-45 t/ha. Irrigation also positively affects fruit quality, enhancing their commercial value and weight. From planting to fruit setting — soil moisture must be maintained at a level not lower than 75 % NH. Considering eggplant's high heat requirement, all agronomic practices, especially during vegetation, should promote better soil warming. Therefore, first and foremost, it is necessary to carry out timely and quality inter-row cultivation. Planting scheme: 70 Х 30-40 cm, 90 Х 25-30 cm or 90+50 Х (25-30) см. Eggplants are grown through seedlings. Eggplant seeds for seedlings should be sown from late February to mid-March. The most common method of growing eggplant seedlings — cassette (sowing seeds in cassettes of a certain diameter). In open ground, it is recommended to transplant 60-70 day-old seedlings (the plant should have 5-7 true leaves).
