Sugar beet SKMS (12173 H 4936)

Focus on Breeding Stability

The sugar beet hybrid SKMS (12173 X 4936) from the Pervomayskaya Breeding and Experimental Station is a prime example of a crop material focused on predictable field results. In modern sugar beet farming, where requirements for sugar yield and harvesting efficiency are rising, choosing genetics from a station specializing in this specific crop becomes a strategic decision for agricultural enterprises.

Agronomic Profile and Field Performance

The oval-conical shape of the root crop, characteristic of this hybrid, is not just a morphological feature but a significant technological advantage. This geometry facilitates:

• Optimal extraction of the root from the soil during mechanized harvesting, which reduces field losses.
• Reduced risk of tip damage during the operation of beet harvesters.
• Minimized post-harvest cleaning costs, as the shape promotes less soil adhesion in the crown area.

The SKMS (12173 X 4936) hybrid demonstrates uniform crop development, which is critical for even maturation and simplified machine calibration during the harvesting phase. It is an ideal choice for agronomists who prefer a reliable "workhorse" adapted to regional soil and climatic conditions and capable of ensuring stable yields under standard production schemes.

Practical Application

This hybrid is well-suited for inclusion in crop rotations for farms focusing on medium and intensive harvest windows. Its biological potential allows for the effective use of nutrients accumulated throughout the season, producing a root crop with excellent commercial quality. When working with this hybrid, it is recommended to follow standard protection protocols, given its responsiveness to proper agricultural management. The Pervomayskaya Experimental Station provides not only high-quality seed material but also technical support, making the use of the SKMS (12173 X 4936) hybrid a predictable and efficient business process.
