Sugar beet VITUS

Danish breeding for high yields

Sugar beet "Vitus" from the Danish breeding house DLF is a choice for farmers focused on stability and technological efficiency. In the modern context of intensive farming, where the competition is for every extra ton of sugar, this hybrid has proven to be a reliable tool for achieving predictable results across fields with varying levels of soil fertility.

Agronomic potential

This hybrid was engineered with European efficiency standards in mind, where the key factor is not just the total mass of the root, but also its purity and sugar concentration. The work of DLF breeders has resulted in high crop plasticity, allowing "Vitus" to demonstrate stable growth dynamics even under challenging climatic conditions.

Sowing recommendations

The foundation of sugar beet productivity is plant density. For this hybrid, the manufacturer's technical guidelines determine an optimal stand density of 90,000–100,000 plants per hectare. Adhering to this parameter allows for:

• Ensuring uniform distribution of nutrients;
• Maximizing the leaf area for photosynthesis;
• Minimizing competition between plants within the row, which directly impacts root uniformity during harvest.

Choosing Danish genetics from DLF is an investment in production security. "Vitus" combines decades of proven breeding approaches with the modern requirements of the processing industry, making it a sought-after solution for agricultural enterprises striving to optimize costs per hectare while maintaining high output yields.
