Sugar beet BTS SMART 9695

Focus on Stability and Crop Health

Working with sugar beet, the biggest challenge is mid-summer disease pressure. Using the BTS SMART 9695 hybrid from Betaseed, you immediately notice how clean the foliage remains until harvest. For an agronomist, this translates to reduced fungicide costs and a predictable result at the scales.

Robust Root System

This hybrid belongs to the NZ (Normal-Sugar) type, and it shows during harvesting. The roots are uniform and structurally sound, which is critical for machine operation—less breakage and cleaner loading. The resistance to rot is a standout feature. Even during a wet autumn, when Fusarium or scab could jeopardize the yield, BTS SMART 9695 holds up impressively well. The built-in defense against root rot works reliably, easing the stress of pile storage.

Field Performance

• Planting and Emergence: The hybrid shows uniform emergence even under sub-optimal soil conditions. The genetic consistency from Betaseed ensures a steady crop flow, which simplifies the calibration of machinery for inter-row cultivation.
• Protection: High resistance to Cercospora and powdery mildew provides flexibility in the spraying schedule.
• Harvesting: The NZ type is optimal for logistics to sugar plants. The beets are easily extracted from the soil and carry less dirt, which lowers transportation costs and improves raw material quality upon intake.

If your goal is to minimize risk and achieve a stable sugar yield per hectare without excessive chemical interventions, this hybrid justifies the investment. It is a solid choice for those who prioritize predictable yield and robust crop behavior under stress.
