Description SUGAR BEET POL X 66607
Sugar beet variety POL X 66607 is a high-yielding culture with a cylindrical root weighing about 700 grams and large dimensions. The plant is characterized by a medium length of the vegetative period of up to 120 days and resistance to adverse weather conditions such as heat and cold. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, with whole, moderately corrugated leaves, and the root system is taproot, penetrating to a depth of 2-2.5 meters. The root is deeply embedded in the soil, has a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil sticking.

This variety is distinguished by resistance to the main diseases of sugar beet, including cercospora, powdery mildew, and root rot. Thanks to its universal and waste-free purpose, all parts of the plant find application: roots are used in cooking to prepare borscht and kvass, as well as for technical purposes for the production of sugar and molasses. In addition, beet is a valuable feed, providing high nutritional value - in 100 kg of roots there are 25 feed units and 1.2 kg of digestible protein, and the tops additionally provide 20 feed units and 2.2 kg of protein.

Sowing is carried out in the spring, starting from April, when the soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm reaches +10°C, as well as in the autumn under winter in late October - early November to obtain an early crop. The recommended sowing depth is 2-3 cm, with a row spacing of 20x50 cm. Harvest is carried out from July to September. Variety POL X 66607 is distinguished by good storability and resistance to bolting, which contributes to maintaining quality and long-term storage of the crop.
