Description Drena
Sugar beet of the Drena variety is a unique Ukrainian product intended for cultivation in open ground. This mid-season variety has a vegetative period from germination to maturity of about 115-120 days. The root is large, cylindrical-conical in shape, deeply embedded in the soil, and weighs on average about 700 grams. Its surface is relatively smooth, significantly reducing soil adhesion during harvest, thus facilitating the harvesting process.

The plant features a semi-erect rosette of leaves with medium-sized leaf blades, solid and moderately wrinkled. The root system is taprooted, penetrating the soil to a depth of 2 to 2.5 meters, which contributes to its resistance to drought and cold. The variety also exhibits high resistance to diseases such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot.

Drena has a universal, non-waste usage, as all parts of the plant are beneficial and can be used for various purposes. In culinary applications, the beet is used for making borscht and kvass, and also serves as fodder. Additionally, the variety is in demand in the technical sector for sugar and molasses production, making it a valuable and multifunctional agricultural product.
