MS C 2371 — medium-maturing diploid hybrid sugar beet, intended for cultivation in all regions of the sugar beet growing zone. This variety is distinguished by high yield and sugar content at the level of 18-20%, making it an important sugar-producing crop of the temperate zone. The root crop has a cylinder-cone shape, the average fruit weight is about 700 grams, and the root surface is smooth, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion.
The plant is resistant to adverse weather conditions, including heat and cold, and also possesses high resistance to diseases such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, with a leaf blade of medium size and moderately corrugated. The root system is taproot, penetrating the soil to a depth of 2-2.5 meters, which contributes to good nutrition and plant stability. The vegetation period is up to 120 days.
MS C 2371 is universal in application: roots are used in the food industry for preparing borscht and kvass, as well as for technical purposes for producing sugar and molasses. Moreover, the crop serves as a feed base, providing a significant amount of feed units and digestible protein in both roots and foliage. Sowing is carried out in April at a depth of 2-3 cm with a row spacing of 20x50 cm, harvesting is conducted from July to September.
