Sugar beet SN 80 M

Stable yields in risk zones: why choose CH 80 M

For growers operating in regions with high disease pressure, selecting sugar beet seeds is a balancing act between root weight and overall crop health. The Belgian breeding program from Sesvanderhave Nv/Sa offers the CH 80 M hybrid, a solution focused on reliable and predictable performance.

Agronomic profile and resistance

The primary competitive advantage of CH 80 M lies in its robust defense system. As a diploid hybrid, it demonstrates high tolerance to Fusarium, which is a critical factor during seasons with unstable temperature patterns. Its specialized resistance to Cercospora and various forms of rot helps reduce the need for excessive fungicide applications, keeping the foliage healthy until the end of the vegetation period.

Characteristics of the E-type hybrid

Categorized as a high-yielding (E-type) hybrid, CH 80 M is designed to maximize tonnage per hectare. Its broad-conical root shape is optimal for mechanical harvesting, as these roots are easily extracted from the soil, minimizing losses during combine operations.

• Ploidy: Diploid — ensures high crop uniformity and stable plant density.
• Type: Yield-oriented (E-type), making it a top choice for farms prioritizing high gross harvest figures.
• Protection: Enhanced genetic resistance to pathogens is a key profitability driver in infected soil areas.

CH 80 M is a pragmatic choice. Rather than chasing the sugar content records of specialized, niche varieties, it succeeds through volume, consistency, and resilience. It is ideal for farmers who need guaranteed root tonnage regardless of unpredictable weather patterns or early-season fungal disease threats.
