Description CHISHMIN EARLY
The Sudan grass variety 'Chishmin Early' is a high-yield forage plant with early maturity and a medium height of about 150–180 cm. The stem is cylindrical and thin, bushiness is medium, which ensures good planting density and ease of processing. Leaves are lanceolate, juicy, 40–60 cm long and 2.0–3.5 cm wide, and the panicle is spreading and loose, 20–35 cm long, giving the plant an attractive appearance until maturity.

Ears are rhombic with glumes colored from light brown to black, containing membranous seeds of oval-round shape, colored from light yellow to light brown. The mass of 1000 seeds is about 14 g, and the yield of green mass reaches 380–465 c/ha, hay – 72.5 c/ha, seeds – 2.7 c/ha. The vegetative period is 78–81 days, which allows obtaining up to two–three cuts per season.

The nutritional value of the variety is high: protein content 8–12 g, sugars 1.8–3.4 %, carotene – about 41 g/kg and cellulose – about 40 g/kg. The plant is drought-resistant and moderately affected by red bacterial spot, which makes it suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions.
