Alfalfa Ida

Alfaseed «Ida» Alfalfa: Efficiency in Every Harvest

When selecting forage crops, the pedigree of the seed is just as vital as the soil quality. The «Ida» alfalfa variety, developed by the Hungarian breeder Alfaseed under the guidance of Dr. Fazekas Miklos, is designed to meet the needs of producers looking for consistent yield and vigorous regrowth cycles.

Why Choose «Ida»?

• Morphological Advantage: With a plant height of 80–100 cm, «Ida» is optimized for mechanical harvesting, ensuring minimal field loss and maximum biomass collection.
• Rapid Recovery: One of the main challenges in alfalfa farming is the time it takes for the crop to bounce back after cutting. «Ida» is specifically bred for rapid vegetative regrowth, making it easier to achieve multiple harvests per season.
• Proven European Origin: Developed in Hungary, this variety is well-adapted to the climatic patterns of the region, providing reliability that imported generic varieties often lack.

Operational Considerations

«Ida» is a professional-grade choice for livestock farms focusing on high-quality forage production. It performs best in well-managed fields with balanced soil pH. While it requires adherence to standard agronomic practices—such as proper seedbed preparation and nutrient management—the return on investment is evident in the quality of the hay produced. It is particularly well-suited for farmers who prioritize a long-term stand (4–5 years) and need a reliable, high-protein component for their herd’s diet. For those looking to optimize their feed supply, this Hungarian variety offers a stable and predictable performance.
