Lucerne variety Kamila is an early German selection variety distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance. The plant features medium-green leaf color and medium-length central leaflets. The bush is strongly branched with high leafiness, which contributes to good development and high yields. Flowers have blue or light-purple hues, and leaf mass accounts for 48-51% of the harvest structure. The stem is medium-length at full bloom, and the plant reaches medium to high height after several cuttings.
Kamila variety demonstrates high yield: average dry matter yield is about 10.5 t/ha, while green matter yield is 52.2 t/ha. Maximum dry matter yield in some regions reached 106.6 ц/ha, significantly exceeding standard values. Protein content in the plant is at 17-18%, ensuring high nutritional potential. Average protein yield is about 7.8 ц/ha, making this variety attractive for fodder use.
Special attention is given to Kamila's high resistance to lodging and diseases, as well as its rapid regeneration after cutting — the plant can regrow 21-24 cm within 2-3 weeks. The variety is suitable for cultivation on light and medium-heavy soils, tolerates winter frosts and dry periods, making it a versatile and reliable choice for various climatic conditions.
