DEMOKSKAYA

Sudan grass "Demokskaya" is an annual grass plant up to 250 cm tall with a deep root system, distinguished by high drought resistance and low requirements for weather conditions. The vegetation period can reach 120 days, with the first cut made 65–70 days after germination, and subsequent cuts every 30–45 days, allowing for two to four cuts per season.

The fodder value of Sudan grass surpasses many traditional crops: protein content in green mass reaches 11%, carbohydrates around 70%. This makes it competitive compared to corn and silage, while providing livestock with high energy value (100 kg of hay equals 17 KE). The vitamin profile is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, carotene, and trace elements Fe, Mg, Zn, Mn, K.

The "Demokskaya" variety is characterized by cold hardiness: seedlings withstand frosts up to -2.5 °C well. Under Bashkiria conditions, the plant yields two cuts, and in more favorable regions, up to four. Green mass yield can reach 40 t/ha, hay - 5–9 t/ha, seeds - up to 300 kg/ha. Recommended cut height is 6–8 cm, and manual sowing rate is 2 kg per 100 m² (or 20–25 kg/ha for a drill).
