Hippophae 'Zyryanka' is a fruit tree of the Hippophae family, reaching up to 2.5 m in height, with a spreading crown and a small number of thorns on the shoots. Bushes can develop as shrubs or small trees, and the crown shape is usually round.
Fruits of 'Zyryanka' are large, cylindrical in shape, weighing about 0.6 g, light orange in color with rosy spots at the base of the pedicel. The pedicel is 6–7 mm wide; berries break off dry. The taste is sour-sweet, with vitamin C content of 110 mg/100 g, making them a valuable source of antioxidants.
Yield is average (0.7–0.9 kg/m²), fruiting begins in the 3rd–4th year after planting. The tree is resistant to frost and fusarium wilt, but has average resistance to other diseases. Suitable for cultivation in northern regions on neutral soil (pH 6.5–7), prefers loamy, clay, chernozem, and loess soils.
Fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and making compotes, jams, and other dishes. Thanks to its flavor palette and high nutritional properties, 'Zyryanka' is a universal choice for gardeners who want to get a quality sea buckthorn crop with good transportability.
