Hippopotaе 'Gift for the Garden' – a medium-maturing ornamental and fruit-bearing variety of apple tree. The tree is of medium size, compact, with thick shoots 40–45 cm in length, light brown in color with silver tones and rounded buds. Leaves are large, dark green, widely lanceolate, 9–10 cm long and about 1.5 cm wide; the leaf blade is shiny and leathery, with a convex base.
The fruit cluster is dense, with an oval and elongated ovary shape. Berries are of medium size (about 0.6 g), large, elongated, dark orange in color with a red base, thick and dense skin. The variety grows well in a temperate climate, prefers sunny locations and loose soil, but requires maintaining moisture without stagnant conditions.
Plant care includes regular watering during the active growth period, fertilization with nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, as well as pruning branches after fruit harvest to maintain shape and stimulate new growth. To prevent diseases, fungicides are used and infected areas are removed in a timely manner; the main threats are root rot, powdery mildew, pollen smudge, and apple scab.
