Description ALEY
Hippophae rhamnoides "Aley" is a male variety, non-fruit-bearing, but possessing high pollination productivity for female bushes. The plant is distinguished by exceptional hardiness: it withstands temperatures down to –45 °C and is resistant to winter frosts. Moreover, it shows strong resistance to diseases (especially fusarium and scab) and pests, and also possesses good drought resistance.

Bush height reaches 3–3.5 m, crown part is wide and spreading. Root system is strong and branched – the network diameter is twice the width of the crown, which ensures plant stability even under severe climatic conditions. Leaves are narrow, light green with a silver sheen, without thorns; flowers are small, uniform and appear before the leaves.

For growing "Aley" a sunny place, protection from strong winds and moderate watering is required. It is recommended to loosen the soil 1–2 times a month, as well as fertilize with potassium and phosphorus fertilizers from the third year of plant life. Periodic sanitary pruning (preventive in autumn) helps maintain crown shape and prevent excessive thickening. The plant is easily propagated by cuttings, layering or division of the root system.

The main advantage of the variety is its ability to fully pollinate female hips bushes, ensuring high berry yield. Thanks to high hardiness and disease resistance "Aley" is suitable as a hedge, decorative element and reliable pollinator in any climatic conditions.
