Sea-buckthorn «Rostov Yubileinaya» – a female variety of medium maturity, distinguished by high resistance to drought, cold, diseases, and pests. The bush has a weakly spreading structure, up to 2 meters in height, and the distance between plants is usually about 3 meters. The fruits reach a mass of 0.5 to 1 gram, have a light orange color and a cylindrical shape with medium-thick skin. The pulp inside is juicy and aromatic, with a sour-sweet taste, making the berries suitable for both canning and consumption.
The culture is characterized by a medium maturity period and a blooming period in May. To obtain a harvest, both female and male plants are necessary, since fruits are formed only on fruit-bearing bushes. According to test data, the yield is approximately 57 c/ha, and with proper care – up to 8-9 kg/tree.
Shoots are thin, slightly curved, dark brown with a gray bloom and pubescent. Thorns are located mainly in the upper part of the shoots, they are light-colored and rare; lateral thorns are rare. Leaves are medium-sized, dark green, leathery and shiny. Due to its resistance to low temperatures and drought, «Rostov Yubileinaya» is suitable for growing in sunny places with a moderate climate, and the fruits remain preserved for up to 5 days with proper storage.
