The Red Lady potato variety is a mid-early, high-yielding table variety developed by the Dutch breeding company Solana. The maturation period is 70-80 days, during which 12-14 elongated-oval tubers with red skin and barely noticeable surface eyes form. The average tuber weight ranges from 114 to 142 grams. The flesh is soft, yellow, dense, and possesses excellent flavor qualities, making this variety versatile for various cooking methods, including boiling, frying, making mashed potatoes, and use in salads. Red Lady shows high resistance to adverse growing conditions, including drought and stress factors. The variety demonstrates resistance to diseases such as late blight, scab, rust, and dark spots on tubers. Thanks to these qualities, as well as its attractive market appearance, the potato stores well and enjoys high demand from retail chains. The yield of this variety reaches 35 tons per hectare, confirming its efficiency and reliability in various climatic conditions. The starch content in the tubers is 12-16%, ensuring the potato's good texture and minimal color change during cooking. This variety is especially suitable for soups and frying, as the flesh barely breaks down during cooking, preserving its shape and flavor. Its high quality and versatility make Red Lady an excellent choice for both home use and commercial cultivation.
