Natasha

Natascha potato is an early-maturing table variety developed by the German breeding company Solana GmbH & Co and registered in the State Register for the Middle Volga region. Plants of medium height with semi-erect bushes and large light-green leaves with moderate leaf margin waviness. Flowers are white with a barely noticeable reddish-purple tint. The vegetation period ranges from 40 to 80 days, allowing for early harvest even under drought conditions. Tubers are oval-shaped, uniform, with smooth yellow skin and small eyes, weighing from 96 to 133 grams. Flesh is light or dark yellow, uniform in texture, does not darken upon heat treatment, and contains 11.2–13.6% starch, corresponding to culinary type A/B — dense or slightly soft flesh.

The yield of the Natascha variety is consistently high, reaching 132 to 191 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standard varieties. Each plant yields 9 to 16 tubers, ensuring good marketable mass. The potato has excellent taste and high marketability — 76 to 93%, as well as good storability up to 6 months, allowing storage without significant quality loss. The variety is resistant to mechanical damage, well-tolerates transportation, and demonstrates high resistance to several diseases, including potato blight, late blight, rust, black scab, and golden potato cyst nematode.

Natascha potato is ideal for various cooking methods, especially salads and frying, due to its dense and uniform flesh.
