Description EDONY
The EDONY potato variety is a high-yielding late-maturing type, forming a large number of uniform, round tubers with an attractive yellow skin. The tubers have deeply set eyes and yellow flesh, distinguished by high starch content, ranging from 24-26%. This variety belongs to the culinary type B-C, providing excellent flavor and medium firmness. EDONY is suitable for making mashed potatoes and can be served whole or fried. Due to its low levels of reducing sugars and acrylamide, the potato maintains high nutritional quality and safety during thermal processing.

EDONY plants are tall, with semi-upright, large leaves and intense anthocyanin coloring of the flower. The tubers have an elongated-oval shape with small, medium-depth eyes, weighing between 105 to 208 grams each. The tuber marketability reaches 84-90%, and storability is 93%, allowing long-term storage at low temperatures without quality loss. The yield of this variety is high and significantly exceeds that of standard varieties, reaching a maximum of 492 centners per hectare.

The EDONY variety exhibits high resistance to major potato diseases, including alternaria, late blight of foliage and tubers, virus Y, and potato cancer. Additionally, it is resistant to golden potato cyst nematode and possesses immune resistance to leaf curl. Its good resistance to mechanical damage makes this variety convenient for transport and storage, combined with its excellent taste and versatility, making EDONY an outstanding choice for cultivation in Central and Central Chernozem regions.
