Electra potato variety — a medium-early Dutch selection, recommended for cultivation throughout Ukraine. Tubers mature 85–100 days after planting. Tubers are uniform, oval or round, medium-sized, with smooth, thin yellow skin and light-yellow flesh. Eyes are shallow and slightly purple, facilitating handling and enhancing product appearance. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 18 tubers per plant.
Electra exhibits high resistance to mechanical damage and several common diseases, including common scab, rhizoctonia, nematodes, and phytophthora (both foliage and tubers). Thanks to these traits, as well as resistance to washing and packaging, the potato maintains an attractive appearance and high quality during transport and storage. Under proper storage conditions, tubers retain their qualities for a long time, making the variety convenient for marketing and long-term use.
This versatile variety is suitable for various cooking methods: it is excellent for frying, salads, and mashed potatoes, thanks to its flavor and flesh texture. Electra adapts easily to different soil types and climatic conditions, ensuring consistent, high-quality yields in various regions. The variety has been registered in Ukraine’s seed potato registry since 2014 and enjoys deserved popularity among farmers and consumers.
