Description Odyssey
The Odyssey potato variety is a medium-early table-type Belarusian selection, intended for cultivation under various climatic conditions. The plant is medium to tall, semi-erect, with light green leaves and white flowers. Tubers are oval-round in shape with small eyes, yellowish skin with slight roughness, and light-yellow flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 89 to 124 grams, with starch content from 13.5% to 17.1%, ensuring good mashability and versatility in cooking. The variety is suitable for frying, baking, and making mashed potatoes, offering a pleasant taste and high marketability — up to 98%.

The Odyssey variety has high and stable yield, reaching 187 to 240 centners per hectare, and may reach up to 300 centners under optimal conditions. It is characterized by early tuber formation and rapid yield accumulation in the first half of the vegetation period, allowing harvest as early as 65-80 days after planting. Recommended planting depth is 8-10 cm, and optimal planting density depends on soil type and cultivation goals, making it suitable for both private and farm-scale cultivation.

Odyssey exhibits good disease resistance: it is resistant to potato scab, moderately susceptible to leaf late blight, but shows moderate resistance in tubers to this disease. It also demonstrates high resistance to viral infections and drought, making it a reliable choice for various growing conditions. To prevent excessive tuber size, timely removal of foliage is recommended. The variety is intensive and responds well to increased mineral nutrition, making it suitable for cultivation on light and medium soils, thereby expanding its agronomic potential.
