Description PREDGORNYY
The potato variety 'Predgorny' is a medium-early table variety developed for cultivation in foothill and mountainous regions. The plant is tall, intermediate type, semi-erect, with medium-sized green leaves and a white flower. Tubers are oval-round in shape with small eyes, smooth yellow skin, and white flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 54 to 90 grams. The starch content in tubers is 16.0–20.2%, which is 0.2–4.9% higher than the standard 'Nevsky', positively affecting taste qualities, which are rated as good and excellent.

The variety exhibits high market yield, reaching 134–158 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 173 centners per hectare, matching the level of top standards. Tubers' marketability ranges from 81–92%, and storability reaches 95%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. 'Predgorny' is resistant to potato late blight, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. According to the breeder, the variety shows drought tolerance, making it especially valuable for cultivation under limited moisture conditions.

To enhance yield and tuber quality in mountainous areas, it is recommended to optimize agronomic practices, including rational use of mineral fertilizers.
