Description LADY OLIMPIA
Lady Olympia potato is an early-maturing table variety with a maturation period of 60-70 days. The plant is of medium height, leafy type, semi-upright, with leaves of medium to large size and medium leaf margin waviness. Tubers are elongated-oval with small eyes, smooth and slightly rough skin, yellow in color, with yellow flesh. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 86 to 192 grams, and the number of tubers per plant is 6-10. Starch content ranges from 14.5% to 17.3%, making this variety versatile for various cooking methods. The yield of Lady Olympia variety is high, ranging from 123 to 259 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 320 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the standard yields of Lugovskaya variety. Tubers have a marketability of 85-95% and storability of 96%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. Taste qualities are rated as satisfactory to good, and culinary type CD allows the potato to be used for frying, boiling, baking, and making mashed potatoes. The variety is resistant to potato cancer pathogen (pathotype I), but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately susceptible to late blight on tubers and susceptible on foliage. The breeder of this variety is the company C.MEIJER B.V. from the Netherlands. Due to its characteristics and high yield, Lady Olympia is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing into potato products.
