Description Anosta
The Anosta potato variety is an early-maturing variety developed by the Dutch company "Agriko" and approved for use in the Central Region since 1993. This variety is characterized by a maturation period of approximately 50–60 days, allowing for an early harvest. The plants are upright with green or slightly colored stems at the base, and the flowers have a white corolla. Anosta tubers are round-oval in shape, medium-sized, with smooth yellow skin and light-yellow flesh, possessing good texture and attractive appearance.

Anosta exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including potato blight, golden nematode (PCN Ro1, Ro4), late blight, as well as resistance to leaf curl and common scab. Moderate susceptibility is noted to rhizoctonia, viral diseases, and dry rots. Due to these qualities, the variety demonstrates stable high yields with minimal irregular tubers, reducing losses during harvesting and transport.

Anosta tubers have a mass ranging from 71 to 134 grams, contain 14–16% starch and 1.3–1.9% protein, making them versatile for various culinary purposes. The potato is suitable for both table use and for producing chips and French fries. The flesh retains its shape during thermal processing, does not break down, and maintains a pleasant taste, making the variety convenient for preparing salads, side dishes, and light meals. Cultivation is possible in open ground with sowing in May at a spacing of 60 x 35 cm and depth of 8–10 cm.
