Vesta pepper is an early-maturing hybrid characterized by high yield and excellent taste qualities. From seedling transplanting to fruit maturity, it takes 65-70 days. The plant is strong, moderately leafy, with a semi-arching bush, ensuring good development and fruiting. Fruits are conical, smooth and glossy, dense, measuring approximately 7x14 cm and weighing 130-160 g. They are three- to four-chambered with a wall thickness of 6-7 mm. In technical maturity, fruits are light green, while in biological maturity they turn bright red, making them attractive to consumers and processors. The Vesta hybrid has high fruit set intensity and resistance to major diseases such as tobacco mosaic virus (races 0-2) and bacterial spot (races 1-3). This allows cultivation both in open and protected ground, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield. Seeds germinate at 25-28°C in about ten days; it is recommended to sow only pre-germinated seeds for better germination and plant development. Optimal planting density is 4-5 plants per square meter. Vesta pepper is versatile: suitable for fresh consumption, home cooking, as well as processing and freezing. Yield in open ground exceeds 6 kg per square meter, while in protected ground reaches about 10 kg per square meter, making it a profitable choice for various climatic conditions and regions. High marketability and attractive fruit appearance make this variety popular among both farmers and home gardeners.
