SARYAL is a mid-early variety of field pea (Pisum sativum L.), developed by the Yakut Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is characterized by a determinate growth type and the absence of leaflets, which facilitates care and harvesting. Plants reach a height of 38-64 cm, approximately 30 cm lower than standard varieties, while the vegetative period ranges from 66 to 93 days depending on the growing region. The variety boasts high yield: in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), the average yield reaches 23.2 centners per hectare with a maximum of 43.5 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standard varieties. Seeds are round with yellow cotyledons and a light hilum; the mass of 1000 seeds varies from 230 to 304 g. SARYAL possesses good resistance to lodging and shattering, which enhances harvest quality. Protein content in the grain is about 24-28%, ensuring high nutritional value and good culinary properties. Grain processing yield reaches 85-90%, making the variety attractive to the food industry. Disease resistance is moderate: moderately susceptible to ascohitosis on leaves, susceptible to pods and seeds, and highly susceptible to root rot, requiring careful control during cultivation. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the East Siberian region, Kurgan and Chelyabinsk oblasts, as well as the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Thanks to its characteristics, SARYAL is widely used in compound feed production, confirming its versatility and high productivity. An original seed and technical base is provided for sowing and harvesting, which contributes to successful cultivation and obtaining stable yields.
