Nemchinovsky 50 — a mid-ripening seed pea variety with a vegetation period of 75 to 90 days. Plants reach heights from 68 to 120 cm, possess medium foliage density, and form an erect stem canopy when sown together with oats and barley. Stems are green, with large awns and well-developed stipules. Flowers are white, large, located on short peduncles, with a maximum of three to four flowers per node. Pods are light brown, weakly curved, and contain an average of 8 yellow seeds with a closed hilum, ensuring high resistance to shattering. The variety is characterized by medium resistance to lodging and drought, as well as moderate resistance to leaf ascochitosis and susceptibility to pod and seed damage. However, it is highly susceptible to root rots. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 177 to 256 grams, indicating medium grain size. Protein content in seeds ranges from 23.0% to 27.5%, ensuring good taste and culinary qualities of the product. Nemchinovsky 50 shows stable yield in the Central region, reaching an average of about 21.5 c/ha and a maximum of up to 40.7 c/ha under favorable conditions. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central region, where it demonstrates high productivity and adaptability. The optimal temperature for seed germination is 13–15°C, and for grain filling is 18–20°C, which allows for effective use of the variety in various agro-climatic conditions.
