Pea UKAZ

Technical Profile of the «Ukaz» Pea Variety

The «Ukaz» pea variety, a product of collaboration between the Kazan and Samara Federal Research Centers of the RAS, represents a precision-bred solution for intensive farming. Its primary morphological feature is the semi-leafless (tendril) architecture. By replacing traditional leaflets with tendrils, the plant develops a significantly stronger, non-lodging canopy. In practical field conditions, this is a game-changer, as it minimizes header losses during direct combine harvesting, even under high-moisture stress.

Phytosanitary Resilience

The core value of «Ukaz» lies in its robust genetic defense system against key leguminous diseases. The variety is specifically engineered for high tolerance to Ascochyta blight and various rot pathogens. This inherent resistance allows agronomists to effectively reduce the frequency and volume of fungicide applications, decreasing production costs while maintaining a cleaner, higher-quality output.

Production Specifications

• Growing Season: Ranges from 70 to 90 days, providing versatility for various crop rotation schemes and climatic zones.
• 1000-Seed Weight: Between 220–260 grams, ensuring consistent seed density and reliable seedling vigor.
• Protein Content: 24–26%, meeting the stringent quality standards required for food-grade pulse exports and the processing industry.

«Ukaz» does not require exotic agrotechnical interventions. Its performance is best realized on leveled fields with precise sowing schedules. For operations focused on high-efficiency harvesting and predictable nutritional profiles, this variety offers a stable, reliable agronomic output.
