Stability and quality: Why farmers choose the 'Rayduzhnyi' oat

In the segment of feed and food oats of Ukrainian selection, the 'Rayduzhnyi' variety, developed by the specialists of the Nosivka Selection and Research Station, holds a position as a time-tested solution. Its key feature is adaptability to intensive farming conditions while maintaining high plasticity across different climate zones of Ukraine.

Agronomic Profile

The variety belongs to the mid-season group with a vegetation period of 95–110 days. This is an optimal range for most farms, allowing for balanced harvesting schedules. The plants reach a height of 90–100 cm, ensuring comfortable harvesting with standard machinery without significant losses. The 1000-kernel weight is 36–40 g, which defines 'Rayduzhnyi' as a variety with well-filled, plump grain.

Advantages and Potential Applications

• Dual Purpose: High quality indicators allow the harvest to be used both for food production (cereals, oatmeal) and as a valuable component in compound feeds.
• Manageability: Due to crop uniformity and resistance to lodging, the variety demonstrates stable yields when basic agrotechnical practices are followed.
• Breeding Foundation: The originator (Nosivka S&RS) ensured a genetic potential focused on the specific soil characteristics of the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions.

'Rayduzhnyi' is not an intensive variety requiring complex micro-fertilization regimes; instead, it is a reliable "workhorse" variety. It is an excellent choice for farmers seeking a balance between cultivation costs and predictable grain quality. If your priority is risk mitigation while maintaining stable yields, this oat variety will fully justify your investment.
