OVEN is a type of spring oat (Avena sativa L.) of the thin-coat type, characterized by medium maturity and medium height. It is recommended for cultivation in the Irkutsk region both for grain and green fodder. The plants are erect with medium-thickness straw and a semi-spreading ear 12-15 cm long. The grain is medium-sized, white, with a naked base, with a 1000 grain weight of 35-39 g. The variety differs from medium to above-average lodging resistance and medium drought tolerance, which ensures a stable yield - about 24.4 centners per hectare for grain and up to 256 centners per hectare for green mass. In terms of grain quality and protein content (14.4-15.6%), the variety is close to the Megion standard and ranks among valuable varieties by quality.
