Oat Argus

Stability and Quality: Breeding Success from the Institute of Grain Crops

The Argus oat variety is the result of long-term breeding efforts by the State Institution "Institute of Grain Crops of NAAS." Developed specifically for the climatic conditions of Ukraine, this variety has established itself as a reliable asset for both commercial farmers targeting the food industry and livestock operations seeking high-quality fodder.

Agronomic Profile

This mid-season variety completes its full vegetation cycle in 95–110 days. The plant features well-balanced morphological traits: a height of 90–100 cm ensures resistance to lodging, making it highly suitable for mechanized harvesting. The yellow color of the grain is a hallmark of the variety, signaling its compliance with strict processing industry standards.

Market Application and Versatility

Versatility is the core competitive advantage of Argus. Due to its superior quality profile, the grain is effectively utilized in two primary sectors:

• Food Industry: The variety is in high demand among flour-milling and cereal producers for the manufacturing of rolled oats and related products.
• Feed Production: A balanced nutrient profile makes this oat an essential component in optimized diets for livestock and poultry.

Choosing this variety represents a commitment to time-tested domestic genetics, specifically adapted to the unique soil and climatic realities of the region.
