Description Sterno
Sterno oat is a medium-maturing spring oat variety developed by the Institute of Grain Husbandry of Ukraine, Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and registered in 2014. It is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe regions. The vegetation period of the variety is 95-100 days, enabling effective use in regional agrotechnical systems.

Sterno is characterized by high resistance to lodging and major diseases such as crown rust and rust, as well as moderate resistance to powdery mildew and rust. The variety is weakly lodging-prone, which contributes to maintaining yield and improving its quality. The optimal seeding rate is 5.0 million germinating seeds per hectare, and the variety positively responds to high agrofond, allowing for stable and high yields when recommended agrotechnology is followed.

The primary purpose of Sterno oat is grain production, which is used for flour, feed, and other agricultural products. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability to various natural-climatic conditions, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming for efficient and sustainable oat cultivation.
