Oat Scarb Ukraine

Stable yields in temperate climate conditions

The 'Skarb Ukrainy' oat variety from the Nosivka Selection and Research Station is the choice for agronomists focused on predictability in the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions. With a growing season of 95–110 days, the crop efficiently utilizes spring and early summer moisture, forming high-quality grain before the onset of critical July droughts.

Agronomic advantages in the field

The plant height of 110–120 cm provides a significant yield of marketable straw, which is a key factor for farms combining crop production with livestock. Within crop rotation structures, this variety is valued for the following traits:

• Lodging resistance: Despite its height, the stem possesses sufficient strength to simplify mechanized harvesting.
• Crop uniformity: Simultaneous maturation minimizes losses during combine harvesting and ensures a homogenous batch of grain.
• Adaptability: The variety demonstrates stability across the various soil types characteristic of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

Practical application

In production cycles, 'Skarb Ukrainy' is primarily chosen to establish a high-quality forage base. A high protein content makes it a valuable component in animal feed for cattle and poultry. From an agronomic perspective, the variety is optimal for early sowing, which allows for effective moisture retention and reduced weed infestation due to rapid initial vegetation. Farmers use this oat as a reliable predecessor in crop rotation, contributing to overall soil health.
