Description

The Lipetskoe 19 proso cultivar is a medium-maturing grain crop intended primarily for feed use. This variety is characterized by high yield and grain quality, confirmed by a maximum yield of 37.5 c/ha achieved in the Lipetsk region. Lipetskoe 19 is recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth region, including the Lipetsk, Voronezh, Kursk, Oryol, and Tambov regions, as well as in the Udmurt Republic. The variety is resistant to lodging and shattering, which contributes to crop preservation and improved grain technological characteristics.

Proso Lipetskoe 19 is a heat-loving, heat-tolerant, and drought-resistant crop, while also responding well to irrigation, allowing for stable and high yields. Agronomy for cultivation includes sowing in May-June at a sowing rate of 3-4 million seeds per hectare and a sowing depth of 4-5 cm. Due to its biological features, proso can be used as a relay and post-cutting crop, capable of producing not only green mass for hay and silage but also grain when sown in June-July.

Green proso mass contains a significant amount of nutrients, including 3.4 kg of protein, 6.6 kg of fiber, and 11 kg of metabolizable energy per 100 kg of mass, making it a valuable feed for livestock. The 1000-grain weight varies from 7.6 to 8.9 grams, indicating high seed material quality. Lipetskoe 19 combines high yield, resistance to unfavorable conditions, and good technological and culinary properties, making it an attractive choice for agronomists engaged in cultivating feed crops.
