Root rot and vascular diseases are the primary causes of reduced stand longevity in perennial legumes. 'Donskaya' offers genetically inherent resistance to:

• Bacterial wilt;
• Fusarium.

This resistance makes the variety an ideal choice for fields with high crop rotation intensity, where soil-borne pathogens often accumulate after previous planting cycles.

Agronomic profile

Plants reach a height of 70–90 cm. The variety exhibits balanced leafiness, which promotes rapid drying of the mowed mass, allowing equipment to enter the field for baling sooner. Its vigorous regrowth energy following each harvest supports the planning of 3 to 4 cuts per season, provided sufficient moisture is available.

• Establishing long-lasting hayfields and pastures: Due to its high pathogen resistance, the stand remains dense for longer, significantly reducing the costs associated with overseeding and field preparation.
• Intensive forage production: The variety is responsive to fertilization, consistently producing high-quality green mass suitable for haylage, silage, or high-protein hay essential for dairy cattle operations.

When sowing, adherence to optimal seeding rates based on soil type is recommended, as this maximizes protein yield per hectare in fertile conditions.
