Lettuce Cavalier

Stability and Tradition in Every Leaf

The 'Kavaler' lettuce is a product of deliberate breeding, designed for those who value predictability and reliability in their gardening routine. Developed by experts at the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, this leaf lettuce holds its own in the mid-season maturity category. Its standout feature is its balanced leaf rosette development, which reaches a commercially viable medium weight upon maturity, making it practical for both small-scale market sales and home gardening.

Agronomic Profile

Unlike early-maturing varieties that can become prone to premature bolting during temperature fluctuations, 'Kavaler' maintains a more consistent development cycle. The plant forms a neat, vibrant green rosette, making it a preferred choice for those who do not require daily harvest intervals but instead prioritize high-quality produce at a specific, manageable time.

• Plant Type: Leaf lettuce with a classic rosette structure.
• Color: Rich, lush green foliage.
• Maturity: Mid-season growth cycle.
• Weight: Medium, consistent weight typical of standard leaf varieties.

Who Should Choose This Variety?

'Kavaler' is an optimal choice for growers who prefer proven genetic stability over the high-maintenance demands of some modern hybrids. It is forgiving of the minor horticultural oversights common in amateur gardening, yet it remains consistent in yield output. If your goal is to harvest succulent, quality greens without the complexity of managing delicate high-tech crops, this variety serves as a dependable addition to your planting strategy.
