CRINKLED SALAD ODESSA

Crinkled Salad Odessa — mid-season leaf lettuce, intended for growing mainly in open ground from April to August. The vegetation period is about 65-75 days, which allows harvesting during the summer. The plant forms a raised rosette with a diameter of 24-32 cm and weighing up to 250-300 g. Leaves are light green, fan-shaped with a small-crinkled hanging edge, crispy, juicy and tender, without bitterness, making the salad especially tasty and healthy.

The variety is characterized by high cold resistance and unpretentiousness, good leaf mass growth even under unfavorable conditions. The plant grows vigorously with a well-developed root system, responds well to regular moderate watering. Crinkled Salad Odessa is resistant to powdery mildew, stem rot, septoria, does not bolt and is not prone to flowering, which ensures a long consumption period. The yield potential is 2-3 kg per square meter.

For sowing, seeds are sown in open ground in rows with an interval of 7-10 days, starting from April to mid-June. Thinning of seedlings is recommended after four weeks with a remaining space of 10 cm between plants. For an early harvest, seedlings can be used, sowing seeds in substrate 30-35 days before planting. Salad pairs well with aromatic crops such as dill, arugula, fennel, onion, kohlrabi and cucumbers. Harvesting is done in one go by pulling plants out with roots; salad is not recommended to be washed after collection to avoid rotting. Crinkled Salad Odessa is a dietary product, especially useful for weight loss.
