Lettuce Babila

A Dutch Standard in the Lollo Bionda Segment

The «Babelaya» lettuce variety from Enza Limited breeders is the answer to the needs of professional growers seeking a balance between rapid vegetation and yield stability. Classified as a Lollo Bionda type, it displays the bright green leaf shade characteristic of high-end Dutch breeding, prized on the market for its superior visual appeal.

Agronomic Advantages

The core competency of this variety is its high adaptability to early production cycles. In modern vegetable farming, where timing dictates commercial success, the early maturity of «Babelaya» allows farmers to plan systematic supply chains effectively. The variety's genetic profile includes a key security feature: resistance to downy mildew (peronospora). This significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide application, a major benefit for eco-conscious farming operations.

Market Position

Enza Limited products traditionally occupy the premium market tier. «Babelaya» has proven successful in both open-field cultivation and hydroponic systems. Due to its robust leaf structure, the variety offers excellent transportability—a critical parameter for wholesale retail suppliers. Amidst changing climate patterns and disease risks linked to corn and sorghum downy mildew, choosing seeds with verified genetic resistance is no longer just a preference, but a fundamental risk management tool for modern agriculture.
