Bottas lettuce is a small-leafed, red leaf lettuce variety of Dutch selection by the company Rijk Zwaan, intended for cultivation in open and protected soil, as well as in hydroponic systems. The maturation period is approximately 30 days, allowing for quick harvest of fresh produce. The plant forms a vertical leaf rosette with red leaves, possessing an appetizing appearance and excellent taste, making it popular on the fresh vegetable market and in salad mixes.
The Bottas variety is characterized by high resistance to various stresses, including bolting and leaf edge scorching. It is resistant to several diseases such as Bl:16-26,28,32, Nr:0, TBSV, as well as to LMV:1 virus. Thanks to Knox TM technology, the lettuce slows down the oxidation of its juice after cutting, extending the freshness and market appearance of the product. The variety is suitable for year-round cultivation from spring to autumn and is appropriate for mechanized harvesting.
