Lettuce Estrosa

Optimizing Lettuce Production with Estroza

Commercial lettuce production requires varieties that combine rapid growth with high reliability. The Estroza hybrid by Enza Limited serves this purpose perfectly, offering growers a Lollo Bionda variety that withstands the rigors of modern agriculture. By focusing on genetic resilience, Enza Limited has created a solution that reduces the need for constant chemical intervention.

Built-in Plant Protection

The biggest challenge for any lettuce grower is minimizing loss from diseases and pests. Estroza provides a robust defense system that is essential for sustainable operations. Its resistance to downy mildew and lettuce mosaic virus, combined with high tolerance to lettuce aphids, ensures that the crop stays healthy throughout its growth cycle. This reliability significantly reduces the costs associated with repeated fungicide applications and crop loss monitoring.

Harvesting Efficiency and Marketability

Estroza is characterized by its signature light green color and dense, frilly leaves. For the grower, this means a consistent, high-quality product that meets the standards of high-end retail chains. The plant’s structure is optimized for efficient harvesting—whether manual or mechanical—minimizing bruising and damage during collection. Its ability to maintain its post-harvest appearance makes it a preferred choice for producers who prioritize supply chain shelf-life.
