Azirka salad is an early-maturing, semi-heading type of Lollo Rosso, developed by Dutch breeders Enza Zaden. This variety features a compact, raised rosette with very dense, crisp, curly leaves of a rich cherry-red color, giving it an attractive appearance. The leaves are tear-shaped with a small cut surface and have excellent taste qualities.
Azirka is versatile in cultivation and suitable for growing in open ground from spring to autumn, as well as year-round in greenhouses. Additionally, the variety adapts well to hydroponic systems. The plant prefers sunny areas with well-watered soil, which promotes its stable growth and development.
One of the key features of this variety is its high resistance to bolting and leaf necrosis, as well as stability against diseases such as BI:16-35 Nr:0/Pb/TBSV. Thanks to these qualities, Azirka is a plastic and all-season variety that retains its characteristics and attractiveness under various growing conditions.
