Lettuce Bakhus

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

When dealing with Lollo Rossa lettuce, crop health is the primary variable that determines profitability. The Bacchus variety from French breeder Vilmorin-Mikado stands out as a reliable choice for professional growers. Its built-in resistance to downy mildew and root aphids is a significant advantage in the field, while its proven defense against powdery mildew drastically simplifies your spray program.

Agronomic Traits and Marketability

Bacchus features an intense dark red color that remains vibrant, ensuring excellent shelf appeal long after harvesting. The plant develops into a uniform, medium-sized rosette, which fits perfectly into standard retail packaging requirements. As a mid-season variety, it provides a flexible harvest window, allowing you to manage labor more effectively without the stress of rapid bolting or loss of quality.
