Smooth brome Rufilla

German Breeding for the Perfect Lawn

Smooth brome grass (Bromus inermis), variety 'Rufilla', is a high-performance product of long-term breeding efforts by the German agricultural powerhouse Feldsaaten Freudenberger GmbH&Co.KG. This variety occupies a distinct niche in the turfgrass market, focusing on the creation of durable, resilient green spaces capable of withstanding significant environmental stress. Developed in collaboration with Euro Grass Breeding KG and DSV Zaden Nederland, this seed material sets European quality standards for professional turf mixtures.

Core Features and Application

The primary focus of 'Rufilla' is professional turf management. Agronomists and landscape architects select this variety for territory development based on the following key strengths:

• Adaptability: The variety exhibits excellent adaptation to European climatic conditions, ensuring predictable growth and development patterns.
• Resilience: Smooth brome is highly regarded for its powerful root system, which allows the turf to maintain its aesthetic appeal even under moderate moisture deficits and on less fertile soil profiles.
• Usage: Perfectly suited for public park zones, sports fields, or high-traffic areas where a dense, uniform sward is essential.

The reputation of Feldsaaten Freudenberger as a manufacturer guarantees seed purity and high germination energy. Unlike many budget-oriented alternatives, 'Rufilla' ensures a dense, gap-free lawn, which is crucial for high-quality landscaping. Thanks to the rigorous development by originators from Euro Grass and DSV, the variety maintains a balanced growth rate. This reduces the frequency of mowing required while keeping the foliage structure lush and vibrant throughout the entire vegetative cycle.
