Smooth brome Cochise

Engineering the Perfect Turf: Kochiz by DLF

The 'Kochiz' smooth brome grass (Bromus inermis) from the Danish breeder DLF is a robust perennial solution designed for long-term turf establishment. Its primary technical advantage lies in the advanced breeding focus on disease resistance, effectively mitigating risks associated with Fusarium and red thread. This biological resilience ensures that the turf maintains its structural integrity and visual quality over a lifespan of 5–7 years, significantly reducing the necessity for chemical interventions.

Key Technical Parameters

• Longevity: Sustained growth and performance for 5–7 years under standard maintenance.
• Root System: High-density rhizomatous structure, which provides superior soil anchoring and erosion prevention.
• Resistance Profile: Specifically engineered to withstand common turf pathogens, including Fusarium and red thread, ensuring consistent stand density.

From a practical standpoint, 'Kochiz' offers a balanced approach to turf management. The plant’s architecture is optimized for dense coverage, making it suitable for areas requiring high durability and minimal recovery downtime. By selecting this variety, professional landscapers ensure a stable, self-regenerating green cover that thrives in northern and temperate climates, backed by the rigorous quality standards of DLF’s Danish breeding program.
